VOLUX returns to LDI 2024 with “Our Vision of Light” coming to life for a bold industry statement.
A bold return to LDI for the 2024 edition came with a large, eye-catching booth design, a mesmerizing presentation, and compelling product releases. The theme, “Our Vision of Light”, was specially curated to showcase the newest offerings that reflect the passionate philosophy for delivering cutting-edge lighting fixtures that stand out and differentiate. Check out the highlights and newest products we showcased.
The Lightshow
Every hour, on the hour, sometimes more. A full presentation brought the booth to life with thumping audio by Void Acoustics drawing visitors to the booth to see what was going on. Programmed by Micheal Meacham of iDesign, an energetic light show with each cue timed to the beat showcased the performance Volux fixtures are capable of, establishing confidence and inspiring users for their next design. Exhibiting alongside sister company, DVS LED, the upstage LED screens featured our robots Phanty & Vizzy dancing and wowing the crowd with augmented 3D effects curated by Creative Integration Studio. Following the light show was an in-depth timecoded presentation of the product line highlighting each product’s feature set.
Product Releases
VOLUX showcased 5 new fixture releases at this year’s LDI with models introduced earlier this year and exclusive show debuts with many of the latest offerings demonstrating VOLUX’s commitment to quality, reliability, and innovation with focus areas on lightweight IP-rated products, luminous efficiency, and enhanced color capabilities based on market demands, trends, and feedback from our customers.
Powerful Wash and FX with PHANTOM
Dubbed as “Phantra’s Big Brother”, the newly introduced Volux Phantom showed off its immense 24,000-lumen output driven by nineteen mappable 60-watt RGBL primary LEDs. Zooming the lens to wide-exposed the 76x dazzling GloDot mappable background LEDs to demonstrate the epic direct-view pixel effects. When zoomed to narrow, which goes down to 4.5 degrees, showed the aura effect to complement the primary LEDs and its impressive throw distance, the rotating lens splits the beams into different directions for big aerial looks. Being IP65-rated with a CM-4 coating and weighing 49 lbs not only makes the light more capable but functional.
FLARIS 1XK – The next level strobe
With its distinctive approach to the tilting strobe tube/pixel plate concept, FLARIS 1XK shined bright flexing its piercing output. The 4 strobe tubes mappable into 96 zones demonstrated new ideas of strobe effect possibilities with the striking white light strobe tubes for visual dicernable effects even from further viewing distances. Surrounded by three RGB+Warm White pixel plates with 24 mappable zones, an industry-first, highlighted the extra level of creativity available to designers with a 3rd-pixel plate. The dedicated 3,000-kelvin warm white color proved Flaris 1XK a more capable blinder and wash light with enhanced color mixing, extended color temperature range including tungsten emulation, plus a more pure white light output to match the adjacent strobe tubes.
PHYSOS – Refining IP-rated Excellence
The new PHYSOS Profile made its world debut at the LDI Show. IP65-rated and comes in a more compact size than its competitors weighing only 85 lbs. PHYSOS demonstrated how much of a punch it can pack both in brightness and features. The 1,000W LED engine emphasizes luminous efficiency at 58,000 lumens, under the hood Physos goes the extra mile with dual layer-able prisms, dual rotating gobo wheels, and dual color wheels including high-CRI flags along with the expected framing shutters, iris, and full-rotating animation wheel. With the extensive feature set under the hood, and standing with a total height of just 30 inches (777mm), it remarkably achieves an extensive zoom range of 4.7 – 58º with quick zoom speed and quick pan/tilt movements.
SPYRA II – Stepping up the original
SPYRA is the first fixture Volux ever offered. Coming with a new 200W 8,000-kelvin engine, SPYRA II delivers increased brightness and an exceptional optical design long throw distances with a completely flat-field beam free of hotspots. With no increase in size, it continues to offer quick movements with infinite pan/tilt but beefs up its effects with 3 individually layer-able prisms including a new 48-facet prism that spreads the beam out by 40 degrees for an elevated effect plus a highly requested linear prism. Along with notable improvements to improve fan noise and reliability.
The Future is Bright… Literally
With selective product development along with increased R&D and manufacturing resources, Volux was able to demonstrate its competitive fixture designs and feature set that reflects even more product releases slated for 2025. This was met with an exciting response and valuable feedback to curate upcoming products to the needs of designers, specifiers, and end users. Even more exciting is all products, including new releases, will be in stock and shipping before end of Q1 2025.
